Your personal sphere of play:

The group of Prof. Backus at the Institute of Physical Chemistry studies structure and dynamics of molecular processes. We apply static and time-resolved vibrational spectroscopic methods.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a PostDoc for 3 years. The position is dedicated to study the structure and dynamics of water in contact with mineral interfaces both relevant for understanding atmospherically processes and for geochemistry. As such, active contribution to research is expected.

 

Your future tasks:

Active participation in research, teaching & administration, which means:

• Contributing to research projects and scientific studies in the field of interfacial chemistry and spectroscopy

• International publications and presentations

• Independently conducting teaching activities within the scope of collective bargaining regulations.

• Involvement in administrative tasks in research and teaching.

This is part of your personality:

• PhD in chemistry or physics

• Experience in vibrational spectroscopy and/or with molecular systems relevant for the position

• Excellent command of written and spoken English and German

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

• Publications in renowned, subject-relevant peer-reviewed journals
