Joint Commitment to Strengthening Open Research Europe
By signing the a Statement of Intent, the ten organizations from eight European countries pledge to work with the European Commission to support Open Research Europe (ORE) as a collective, non-profit open-access publishing platform for an initial period of five years, starting in 2026. The platform, which is currently available to researchers working on EU projects for publishing their work, is intended to enable a wider range of authors to publish open-access free of charge from 2026 through the joint initiative.
As of January 15, 2025, the following organizations have committed to supporting ORE:
- Austrian Science Fund (FWF)
- The Research Council of Norway (RCN)
- Forte - Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare
- Slovenian Research Agency (ARIS)
- Swedish Research Council (SRC)
- Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT)
- Spanish National Research Council (CSIC)
- German Research Foundation (DFG)
- Formas - Swedish Research Council for Environment, Agricultural Sciences and Spatial Planning
- French National Research Agency (ANR)
