To mark the tenth anniversary of the “Euregio Science Fund,” the three Euregio regions are continuing the successful funding of cooperative research projects in basic research. A funding volume of €3.9 million is currently available to get multi-year, innovative cooperation projects off the ground. The Austrian Science Fund (FWF) is responsible for quality assurance and awarding the funding, while the projects are carried out at research institutions in the European region of Tyrol–South Tyrol–Trentino. The aim is to further strengthen the innovative power of the European region and offer attractive research jobs.
Target group
The funding program is aimed at researchers from all disciplines from the regions of Trentino, South Tyrol, and Tyrol applying jointly for a research project.
Funding goals
The program gives researchers the opportunity to carry out thematically clearly defined research projects limited to a specific duration and to devote themselves to investigating individual research questions. Researchers from Trentino, South Tyrol, and Tyrol each make a substantial contribution to the overall project, creating added value.
The program has the following objectives:
- The development of new ideas in the field of basic research
- The establishment and expansion of research networks between the regions of Tyrol, South Tyrol, and Trentino with joint research projects
- Increasing the international visibility of researchers from the European region of Tyrol–South Tyrol–Trentino
