This Doktoratskolleg will bind together a range of expertise to empower it to approach scientific problems that are of imminent interest to the field of atomic, molecular and optical physics and require joining forces across the typical sub-fields of atomic, molecular and optical physics. Our Doktoratskolleg will thereby provide a unique training environment for PhD students that will radiate out across national borders.

Throughout the two programme periods, the DK-ALM has made significant scientific contributions, publishing 169 peer-reviewed articles in renowned peer-reviewed journals. Till end of May 2023 22 PhD students have already graduated in the programme. In addition, the programme has provided valuable additional training through the organization of 6 summer schools, 5 science days, and 25 specialized courses, further enhancing the knowledge and skills of its participants. Beyond the scientific achievements, the DK-ALM fosters a strong sense of unity among its students, creating a supportive and collaborative environment.
