PhD: Human AML-derived extracellular vesicles (EVs)

Trophic factors including EVs secreted by AML cells have recently been described as potent modulators instructing the leukemic niche. To study the role of EVs during AML – immune cell crosstalk a PhD position is available through funding by the Cancer Cluster Salzburg in the Cell Therapy Institute at the Paracelsus Medical University Salzburg, Austria.
Demands & Tasks:
The successful applicant is an optimistic + goal-oriented cellular/molecular biologist (MSc) or MD / student (physician scientist) with documented experience (in the master thesis) in the field of EV research or immunology (immune cell biology), and knowledge about small particle analysis incl. flow cytometry. You are motivated to perform highly competitive mechanistic research contributing to develop novel strategies in tumor biology and therapy as part of a growing team of excellent researchers in Salzburg.
The gross annual remuneration is based on the FWF PhD recommendations: EUR 30,273.60 for 30 hours/week wet lab working time excluding lectures.
